Caedmon's Call: The Best Christian Band?

I think so! At least from a lyrical stand point. I understand that folk isn't everyone's cup of tea. A while ago The Kerux posted a hymn called "Why Men Don't Preach Sovereign Grace." Truth is often in short supply these days. As my friend Lydia once said, "Our circumstances do not define reality! GOD DOES!" I would suggest, neither do our thoughts, desires, or actions. So, I am at the mercy of a completely sovereign God? YES! You mean I don't control my own destiny? YES, and it is AMAZING! As usual, my friends from Caedmon's Call have expressed this in a better way than I could. I tried to insert the Scriptures where they may have found these truths. SINCE THAT IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT TRUTH IS FOUND!

Before there was time
There were visions in Your mind
There was death in the fall of mankind
But there was life in salvation's design (Ephesians 1:3-10, Acts 2:23)

And before there were days
There were nights I could not see Your face
But the night could not keep me from grace
When You came and took my place

So I cry holy only begotten Son of God
Ancient of Days (John 1:1, John 8:58)
I cry holy only begotten Son of God
And sing the praises
Of the One who saved me
And the promises He made (Genesis 3:15 wasn't God saving the day after his original plan, to have us all happily living in Eden, failed! Numbers 23:19)

Before there was time
You counted the hairs on my head
You knew all the words I've said
And You purchased me back from the dead (Psalm 139, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, The book of Romans)

Before I was made
You searched me and knew my ways
You numbered all my days
And You set forth the steps I would take (Proverbs 21:1, Ephesians 2:10, )

You saved me, You raised me
You saved me, You pulled me from the grave (Ezekiel 36:24-27) Notice the parallel between what I just highlighted and how many times God said "I" in this passage.

I don't really have much more to say. What could I add?

Lets remember who our God is: The one who spoke YOU and ME into existence.

They sounded like a cool band. Do you have any of their CDs..?

You need to get blogging on the sufficiency of Christ. It was too good a sermon to let slip!

I heard an update from Heresy Central about the "healing" "ministry" that happened last week, by the way...

my aunt was diagnosed with cancer and they predicted she had 3 weeks left to live.

enter Christ into the scenario.

she's now alive, cancer free and the doctor's still don't understand why :)
