Resolved 07
They do things BIG in America. If you want to read a good review of the conference from an honest perspective, check out this slacker's website.
When I left Montreal last Thursday it was about 10 or 15 below. When I woke up in the Sherman Oaks apartment of my new buddy Mcneely on Friday morning, at about 7 AM, it was already stinking 80 degrees (F) outside. Pwnage.
It was not only heavenly in a climatic sense. I had the honour of hearing the word of God exposited by the reformers of my century. I won't say anything about what was preached because all of the sermons are available for free online (or they will be very soon).
I have to tell you a bit about the experience though. Travelling with and uberblogger has benefits. Namely, bypassing a line of about 3000 youth and strolling on down to my reserved seat in the second row. Cool. The thing that was totally hilarious was the amount of security in the place. J-mac is escorted from his hotel into a large SUV and shuttled across the street (literally) into a back enterance which leads so some freight elevator, at all times surround by plainclothed cops packing heat. Also cool. Did you know that his pulpit at Grace Community Church is bulletproof?! All that for preaching the truth. Lots of people don't like him.
Here is one of my fav things. This is how my reserved seat was labeled. Cool.
I took this and put it in my bag so I could keep it because I thought it was so funny. The funny thing is, later at lunch, I told this lady that my last name wasn't important. And the only important thing about Tim as his last name. Then, that evening, my new sign looked like this.
